I just finished playing Blackwell Deception, for some year now i’ve delighted myself with this indie retro-adventure game saga that keeps on getting better and better. It’s about a young aspiring writer (Rosangela Blackwell/Rosa) who after her aunts death finds out that she is a medium and must help ghosts move on from the real world alongside her spirit guide Joey Mallone a ghost from the 40’s or 50’s (it’s not clear)
There are 4 games released with Blackwell: Unbound being a prequel set during the 70’s Deception being the latest and probably the best. When the game finishes it really leaves you with the feeling that it’s all just about to begin. The characters are great the score rocks it’s a step forward for the new indie adventure revival. If you miss old-school pixel point-and-click adventure games this series is the one you’d enjoy.
